Our roots in this city run deep. Fredericktonian Lodge No. 12 was established in 1859, making us a steadfast pillar of the Frederick community since before the Civil War.

We are incredibly proud of our heritage as a Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. Prince Hall Freemasonry began in 1775 during the Revolutionary War era, when Prince Hall and fourteen other free Black men were initiated into a British military lodge after being denied entry by colonial lodges. They went on to charter their own lodge, birthing a rich, centuries-long legacy of resilience, leadership, and brotherhood. Today, we carry that historic torch forward, honoring the traditions of those who laid the foundation before us.

Our Commitment to the Community A core pillar of Freemasonry is bettering the world around us, and community service remains the heartbeat of Fredericktonian Lodge No. 12. For over 160 years, our members have been deeply invested in making a tangible, positive impact in Frederick.

We are proud sponsors of Lincoln Elementary School and dedicated supporters of the Sertoma Bucks teen basketball team. Whether we are investing in the next generation through our annual lodge scholarships or bringing neighbors together at our community fish frys, our brotherhood extends far beyond our walls to serve the youth and families of our area.
